The Book List

Do you read?  How do you read?

Well.  Not how do you read.  I know how to read.  I mean, I am writing this now...

What I mean is, if you're a reader, do you do books or an e-reader?  I'm fan of the audio book for travel.  I love a "real" book texturally.  The smell, the feel, the seeing it on a shelf.  And you can even loan them to your friends!  But I also like the immediacy & convenience of an e-reader.  I have a Kindle Fire.  I want a book.  I go to Amazon.  I have the book.  Also, I am prone to a hair of insomnia at times & the Kindle is perfect to read without turning on a light.

All that to say, as long as I got sumthin' to read, I'm good.  But it seems like people are solidly in one camp or the other so I'm always curious about others' preferences.  (Sort of like how I'm curious about what you're having for dinner tonight.)

My dad keeps a list of the books he reads.  I love lists & thought this was a great idea.  I'm currently at 3 books a month with a current tally of 12 for the year so far.  A couple have been HUGE hits that you can't avoid if you've ever been in a bookstore (or for one a movie theater).

My favorite by far is The Girl on the Train.  I gorged myself on it.  And was a little sad & lost at what to do when it was done.

And I just got finished with Wild.  I bought it on a whim, not sure if a book about a hike was my cup of tea.  But it was so much more.  Thought provoking & achingly reminiscent.  Now I must see the movie.

This is nothing earth-shaking.  You've seen these books around.  But if you were considering a new read, join the masses on these two.  They were that good!  (And numbers 6 & 12 respectively on my list.)
